Staying Fit at Home

Let's talk health! Staying healthy during a pandemic is challenging, but let's explore some best practices.

Wear a mask and abide by CDC and local guidelines. The Town of Amherst keeps their site updated, which can help you keep track of local regulations. Wash your hands! Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water. As we begin to see improvements with COVID-19, it's important not to skip this step - handwashing is your friend, every day!

Physical fitness is an important part of staying healthy. But how can you do it while social distancing?? Gyms are closed, and weights are sold out on Amazon until the end of the summer!

Here are our favorite fitness apps, which can help you stay healthy and strong without the gym!

  1. Charity Miles donates money to charity for every mile you bike, run, or walk! If you've ever struggled with motivation when it comes to exercise, this is a great way to help a cause you care about while moving.

  2. Sworkit sets up personalized workout routines for you, including bodyweight-only routines (that means no weights needed!), cardio, and more. It's interactive and allows you to set your own goals, including increased strength, flexibility, and endurance.

  3. Strava is the go-to run/walk/bike/hike tracking app. It maps your trip, allows you to take notes, take a photo of the view (or your muddy running shoes!), and more. There's a free version, with the ability to upgrade to premium.

Cheers to taking care of yourself!
