Amherst has a population of 37,819. During the school year, however, the town almost doubles in population! That’s due to the students at Amherst College, Hampshire College, and UMass Amherst. That means that for nine months out of every year, Amherst is home to a huge influx of people from different backgrounds and countries. 

Where else can you find a small town that features multiple ramen and boba shops, amazing Mexican food, stellar sushi, craft cocktails and beers, quality coffee, and some of the most creative pizza around? It may be a small town, but Amherst never feels small.
